How We Handle Your Cancellations
Course Cancellations
If you need to cancel your enrolment in a course, here is what you need to know:
- Cancel 7 or more days before the course starts to receive a full refund, no problem at all.
- Cancel 3 to 6 days before the course starts, and you will receive a 50% refund.
- Cancel less than 48 hours before the course starts, and unfortunately, we are unable to offer a refund.
- To cancel, simply email us with your details. See section 4 below for how to do this.
- If you are unsure whether to cancel, contact us first.
- We may be able to find a solution that works for you.
- If Mixt Academy needs to cancel a course due to low enrolment or tutor unavailability, you will receive a full refund or a free transfer to another available course.
One-to-One Session Cancellations
Private and one-to-one sessions have their own cancellation rules. Here is how it works:
- Give more than 24 hours’ notice, and you can cancel or reschedule for a full refund or session credit.
- Cancel with less than 24 hours’ notice, and the session is non-refundable and cannot be rescheduled.
- If your tutor cannot attend due to an emergency or a technical issue on our side, your session will be rescheduled at no extra cost.
- Please let us know as early as possible if anything comes up; even a quick message helps.
Group Class Cancellations
For group classes, the same cancellation rules apply as in Section 1. Here are a few additional things to keep in mind:
- If you miss a session without letting us know in advance, it will be marked as non-attended.
- Missed sessions without prior notice are non-refundable.
- Please always let us know if you cannot make it; even a quick email makes a difference.
- Repeated non-attendance without notice may affect your ability to book future sessions.
Cancellations by Mixt Academy
This could be due to tutor unavailability, low enrolment, or unforeseen circumstances. If this happens:
- We will contact you as soon as possible with as much notice as we can give.
- You will be offered a full refund to your original payment method, or
- A free transfer to another available course or session at no extra cost to you.
- We will always do our best to minimise disruption and find a solution that works for you.

We are transparent about every aspect of how your personal information is managed.
We know life can be completely unpredictable. While our standard rule requires 24 hours’ notice, we handle serious illnesses or genuine family emergencies with common sense and empathy. Under our Exceptional Circumstances (Section 8) policy, please contact us as soon as possible. We review these rare situations individually to find a fair solution, which may include issuing a session credit.
Yes, if you cancel more than 24 hours before your scheduled lesson, you will receive a full refund or a credit added to your account. Cancellations made within 24 hours are non-refundable, as the tutor has already reserved that time specifically for your session.
A session credit is a voucher added to your Mixt Academy account instead of a direct cash refund. You can use this credit to book any future tutoring session or course on our platform. Please keep in mind that session credits are valid for exactly 30 days from the day they are issued, are non-transferable, and cannot be exchanged for cash.
If a session or course has to be cancelled by Mixt Academy due to tutor illness, technical failures on our side, or low enrolment, you will never lose out. We will contact you immediately and offer you the choice between a 100% full refund back to your original payment method or a free transfer to another scheduled session or course at no extra cost.
Unfortunately, we cannot extend a lesson past its originally scheduled end time. Our tutors usually have other students booked back-to-back, so extending a session would make them late for their next student. To get the most value from your booking, we highly recommend logging into the digital classroom a few minutes before the official start time.
