How We Set the Ground Rules
Our terms and conditions ensure premium standards for your 1-to-1 online tutoring journey for both tutors and students.
Introduction
We want everyone to have a safe and positive experience at Mixt Academy. Here is what you need to know:
- Content: Includes all text, images, graphics, videos, audio, software, code, databases, documents, and other materials published or made available on our website.
- “We”, “Us”, or “Our”: Refers to Mixt Academy Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (Company No. 16473912) with its registered office at Belvedere House, Flat 50, Lemon Grove, Feltham, Middlesex, TW13 4DH.
- When you book a lesson with us, you enter into a direct contract with Mixt Academy Ltd.
Access to Our Website
- Access to our website is provided free of charge.
- You are responsible for ensuring you can access our website and internet services.
- We aim to keep the website available, but uninterrupted access cannot be guaranteed.
- Certain pages or features may be updated, suspended, or withdrawn when required.
- Where reasonably possible, we will provide advance notice of significant service interruptions.
User Responsibilities & Rights
- Provide accurate information about the subject, level, and exam board you need help with, so we can assign the right tutor.
- Ensure a quiet space and working device, camera, microphone, and stable internet before each lesson.
- Always ensured to Treat tutors and Mixt Academy staff with respect.
- Not attempt to book or pay a Mixt Academy tutor privately, outside of our platform.
Booking, Pricing & Payment
- Lesson prices start from £20 per hour, shown upfront, including VAT, before booking.
- Payments are taken in advance and processed securely; we never store your card details.
- New prices apply only to future bookings — your paid lessons stay unchanged.
- Course and package bookings show a clear breakdown of costs and payment dates.
Cancellations, Rescheduling & Refunds
- Cancellation notice periods and charges are fully explained in our Cancellation Policy, forming part of these Terms.
- Refund eligibility, including tutor no-shows, is fully explained in our Refund Policy, forming part of these Terms.
- Nothing here removes or limits your statutory consumer rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
Liability & Related Legal Disclaimers
We remain fully liable for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, and anything else the law doesn’t allow us to limit. Beyond that, our total liability for any claim is limited to fees paid in the preceding 12 months. We’re not liable for indirect losses or disruptions genuinely outside our control, though our Refund Policy still applies where the fault is ours.
Safeguarding & Child Protection
All tutors working with students under 18 hold a valid DBS check before being assigned lessons. Lessons may be recorded for safeguarding, quality, and dispute-resolution purposes. Joining a lesson means agreeing to our privacy policy. Parents should stay reasonably available during a young student’s lesson. Any safeguarding concern should be reported immediately to support@mixtacademy.co.uk.
Our Tutors & Service Standards
Every tutor is engaged and vetted by Mixt Academy. You never need to check an unknown individual yourself. We carefully match you with a tutor suited to your subject, level, and exam board, offering a suitable replacement if yours becomes unavailable. We can’t guarantee specific grades, but we do guarantee qualified, background-checked tutors.

Yes, a parent or guardian must provide consent before any student under 18 can register, book lessons or use Mixt Academy’s tutoring services. Students aged 13 and over may browse the website, but we do not collect data from children under 13 without parental permission.
Only authorised Mixt Academy staff and your child’s tutor can access the information needed to manage lessons and share updates. Payments are processed securely by encrypted third-party providers, and Mixt Academy never stores card or bank details.
We only retain your personal data for as long as you are actively studying with us, or as required to meet our standard legal and administrative obligations under UK law.
